With holograph annotations, presumed to be by the unnamed recipient, which support an authorial gift and apparently some of the annotations. Designed by Robert S. Josephy.

Primary text in black, with graphic elements from wood type in blue and blind. An excerpt from The Extruded Gilgamesh, printed by the author/publisher for a reading at the Poetry Project in NYC on March 23, 2009. As new.

Very mild crease to corner of wrapper, and trace of handling to extremities, otherwise about fine.

Hart #118. Note that the limitation of this copy is 1/1000, not 1/935, and that the main pagination is 114, not 118. .

Limited ot 925 copies. ________ The preface is by John Ruskin. Mosher never clearly identified from which edition he reprinted: the British or the American edition of 1883. Since copyright problems were most likely avoidable by reprinting the British edition, it most likely was the G. Allen edition (Sunnyside, Orpington, Kent, 1883). ________ The portrait frontispiece is by the author, Francesca Alexander, the American artist who spent much of her life in Italy, befriended John Ruskin, and published much of her work in the 1880's and 90's.
